Namibian tycoon Quinton van Rooyen has seen a notable comeback in his wealth recently, fueled by the impressive surge in the market value of his stake in Windhoek-based investment holding company, Trustco Group Holdings (Trustco).

After facing financial challenges last year, van Rooyen’s stake in Trustco has risen by R200.80 million ($10.62 million) since Jan. 23, driven by heightened interest from local investors and market participants, resulting in a significant boost in the company’s share price.

Van Rooyen’s Trustco makes waves: 71-percent surge propels market cap above $40 million

The positive momentum on the Namibia Stock Exchange follows Trustco’s announcement of its plan to issue new shares to the U.S. fund Riskowitz Value Fund LP (RVF) for an equity investment of up to NAD950 million ($50 million). This move represents a noteworthy cash infusion into Trustco, contributing to the recent surge in its shares.
