WWT’s performance propels Steward’s year-to-date surge beyond $500 million

The bump in Steward’s net worth, which translates to an average daily gain of $30 million, is attributed to the performance of his 59-percent stake in St. Louis-based World Wide Technology (WWT), an information services and hardware provider. His year-to-date wealth gains have now surpassed $500 million ($572 million), according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

WWT, one of the largest African-American-owned businesses in the United States, is a major player in cloud computing, security services, and digital consulting, raking in $17 billion in yearly revenue. Steward’s stake in WWT is now worth $10.1 billion, up from $9.8 billion on Feb. 9, driving his wealth surge.

With a net worth of $10.1 billion, Steward now holds the 229th spot among the world’s wealthiest individuals. He now trails Manuel Villar, the chairman of Vista Land & Lifescapes, the largest home builder in the Philippines.
