  • Edita Frozen Food Industries debuted a premium range of frozen croissants and breads at CAFEX 2025, targeting Egypt’s hotels, cafés, and restaurants.
  • The company leverages a cold-chain network of 40 trucks and seven distribution hubs to ensure freshness and efficiency for its new institutional food service clients.
  • Built on the success of Molto Forni, the new line marks Edita’s strategic push beyond retail into Egypt’s fast-growing professional food service segment.

Edita Food Industries, a packaged foods company headed by Egyptian business magnate Hani Berzi, has officially entered the food service market through its wholly owned subsidiary, Edita Frozen Food Industries, with the launch of a premium line of frozen bakery products.

The new range, unveiled at CAFEX 2025, features ready-to-bake croissants, viennoiseries, and breads tailored for hotels, cafés, restaurants, and catering businesses. The strategic move marks Edita’s ambition to deepen its market footprint beyond consumer retail into high-margin food service channels.

Strategic expansion and market rollout

The debut of the premium line at CAFEX — one of the region’s largest exhibitions for food and beverage professionals — aligns with Edita’s focus on innovation and operational scale. With 105 industry exhibitors present, CAFEX served as an ideal platform for the company to showcase its new offerings and network with regional buyers and hospitality leaders.

To support this expansion, Edita Frozen Food Industries is leveraging its nationwide cold-chain logistics infrastructure, including seven distribution centers and a fleet of more than 40 refrigerated trucks. This ensures freshness, efficiency, and nationwide availability for its institutional partners.

The product line builds on the success of Molto Forni, Edita’s flagship frozen food brand in the consumer space, which has quickly gained market leadership in Egypt. Molto Forni’s pizza and pastry products are now available across all governorates and leading retail outlets, reinforcing consumer trust and brand equity.

Edita’s broader industry ambitions

Founded by Hani Berzi in 1996, Edita Food Industries has grown into a leading player in Egypt’s food sector. Berzi maintains a 41.95 percent stake through Quantum Invest BV, underscoring his enduring influence and the company’s market leadership.

The launch of its frozen bakery line reflects Edita’s strategy to diversify revenue and expand into high-growth segments, targeting both retail and institutional markets. A dominant name in Egypt’s packaged snacks, Edita offers a wide range of branded products—including cakes, croissants, wafers, and rusks—distributed nationwide.

In May 2023, Edita established Edita Frozen Food Industries, a fully owned subsidiary, to spearhead its entry into frozen bakery. The move followed the acquisition of Fancy Foods, adding key assets like production lines, land, machinery, and a strong distribution network.

Blending innovation with logistical strength and brand equity, Edita Frozen aims to reshape Egypt’s food service landscape with premium frozen bakery offerings designed for professional kitchens—combining gourmet quality with convenience.
