LeBron James is making it clear: basketball isn’t the only arena where he wants a lasting legacy. In a recent interview with Complex, the Los Angeles Lakers star laid out a renewed commitment to SpringHill Company, his entertainment and storytelling venture, saying he intends to pour more energy into making it “the greatest storytelling company there is.”

SpringHill, founded in 2020 by James and his longtime business partner Maverick Carter, merges SpringHill Entertainment, Uninterrupted, and The Robot Company. It produces films, TV and digital content, podcasts — even animated projects — all under one roof.

In the Complex conversation conducted by entertainer Speedy, James explained that beyond pursuing happiness, he's chasing a tangible goal: building a storytelling empire. “We’ve been putting that work in uninterrupted. … we do all types of shows, and we do podcasts now, where we do movies and TV shows, everything, cartoons, everything,” he told Speedy.

While James’ on‐court career is still very much alive — he enters his 23rd season with the Lakers — he seems to see SpringHill not just as a side passion, but as the next chapter of his public life. He compared his aspirations to industry giants like Pixar when talking about how he wants content creators to pitch directly to SpringHill, bypassing usual gatekeepers.

SpringHill has already drawn attention — including major investments and a recent merger with UK’s Fulwell 73, which broadened the company’s reach across film, unscripted content, documentaries, and live events. But James’ latest comments suggest he’s ready to lean in deeper, treating storytelling not just as business expansion but as identity.
