Born in 1984, Stanley Ifeanyi Uzochukwu studied at the University of Jos and began his career in downstream oil and gas. He founded Stanel Group in the early 2010s and built it around “one-stop” forecourt mega-centers—fuel, food, retail and services on a single campus. Over the past decade he’s layered higher-margin consumer offerings (bakery, bottled water, convenience retail and dining) onto those hubs and stepped into hospitality with The Delborough Lagos, a luxury hotel on Victoria Island.
These are the various businesses Stanly Uzochukwu controls:
1. Stanel Group (Holding company)
Stanel Group is the corporate umbrella for Uzochukwu’s ventures. The core is fuel distribution and diesel supply, wrapped with site-level retail and services to capture non-fuel spend.
2. Stanel World (Forecourt mega-centers)
“Stanel World” sites in Awka, Jos and Suleja bundle petrol stations with supermarket, bakery, QSR dining, auto-care and other services—designed to keep customers on campus and increase average ticket size.
3. The Delborough Lagos (Hospitality)
A luxury hotel on Victoria Island that marks Stanel’s move into premium hospitality. It targets corporate travel, events and high-end leisure, giving the group revenue streams not tied to pump margins.
4. Stanel Mart (Grocery & convenience retail)
The in-house supermarket and convenience brand located within Stanel World hubs, providing everyday essentials and lifting non-fuel margins across the forecourt campuses.
5. Stanel Bakery / “Stanel Bread” (FMCG)
An on-site and central bakery operation producing packaged bread and fresh baked goods. The bakery drives repeat visits and anchors daily consumer traffic at Stanel World locations.
6. Fastchow Africana & Fastchow Continental (QSR dining)
Stanel’s quick-service restaurant concepts—local and continental menus—embedded in the mega-centers to extend dwell time and capture meal-time demand from motorists and nearby residents.
