Yerim Sow, the Senegalese businessman behind the Teyliom Group, is expanding his footprint in residential property with the launch of LYNEA, a new apartment project pitched as modern, functional and positioned near key services in Dakar.
Teyliom Properties said LYNEA features a clean, linear design with what it described as optimised living spaces and careful finishes, targeting buyers looking for comfort, natural light and practical layouts. The developer said the residences are located in strategic neighbourhoods with access to amenities, transport connections and community centres.
The company framed the launch as part of a broader push to diversify its housing offer while strengthening its position in Senegal’s real estate market. It said it is also developing several other residential and high end projects aimed at first time buyers, young families, wealth investors and the diaspora.
Sow is best known locally as a dealmaker with interests that cut across sectors, but property has become one of the group’s most visible bets. Teyliom says it was established in 2001 and began shifting into real estate several years later, building out development and building management capabilities alongside other investments.
The stakes for developers are rising as Dakar grows outward and upward. Demand is being driven by urbanisation, a young population and the buying power of Senegalese living abroad, who often seek completed, well managed homes as a way to invest back home.
That mix of buyers shapes how projects are designed and sold. First time buyers tend to focus on affordability, financing and predictable handover dates. Diaspora buyers often prioritise delivery credibility and resale value, especially when purchases are made from abroad. Higher end buyers look for location, security and services that match their lifestyle.
Teyliom is trying to cover that spread with a pipeline that includes mid market apartments alongside premium residences. In announcing LYNEA, the company emphasised quality and day to day liveability, leaning on features such as layout efficiency, finishing standards and proximity to transport.
The developer also promoted its track record, saying its projects combine contemporary architecture, thoughtful design and functional planning, while contributing to more structured urban development.
In West African cities, delivery and after sales support can matter as much as design. Buyers routinely complain about delays, shifting specifications and building maintenance that deteriorates after handover. Developers that can deliver consistently and manage assets over time are often the ones that keep attracting referrals and repeat demand.
Teyliom Properties describes itself as active across the full value chain, from concept and design through to property and facility management, an approach it says is meant to support long term quality and resident experience.
