Dangote Group used the Kaduna International Trade Fair to restate a message it has been pushing for years: produce more at home and add more value locally.

At the company’s Special Day during the 47th edition of the fair, its representative, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman, outlined the group’s Vision 2030 roadmap. The plan centres on strengthening Nigeria’s industrial base and reducing dependence on imports.

Addressing business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors, Wali Abdurrahman said the direction is straightforward. Expand manufacturing capacity, deepen supply chains and create jobs by processing more raw materials within Nigeria rather than exporting them in raw form.

She said the group’s investments across cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, energy, sugar and salt are designed to reinforce domestic production and position the company as a competitive global manufacturer. The broader aim is economic self reliance built on local capacity.

Vision 2030, she explained, is not only about scale. It is also about technology adoption, efficiency and building systems that keep value within the country.

She emphasised partnerships with small- and medium-scale enterprises, distributors and local suppliers, noting that industrial development must include businesses across the value chain to be sustainable.

Local content development is not a slogan, she said. It is the foundation of how the group approaches growth, adding that Nigeria’s prosperity should be built with Nigerian resources and enterprise.

The event also served as a product showcase. Dangote Sugar introduced new 25kg and 100g sachet packs at the fair as part of efforts to widen market reach.

Farouk Suleiman, president of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, described the conglomerate as a symbol of industrial excellence. He said its continued participation in the trade fair shows confidence in business exhibitions as platforms for growth and collaboration.

Several Dangote subsidiaries were present, including Dangote Cement, Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries, Dangote Sinotruk, Dangote Peugeot Automobile and Dangote Fertiliser. Each unit operated helpdesks to engage visitors and potential partners.

The group intends to push harder on local production, strengthen supply chains and deepen value addition within Nigeria’s economy.
