Strive Masiyiwa, Founder and Executive Chairman of Cassava Technologies, has joined 15 leading global technology companies to inaugurate the Trusted Tech Alliance, a new coalition aimed at strengthening trust and resilience across the digital ecosystem.
The announcement was made during the Munich Security Conference, where executives from major technology firms gathered to formalise the partnership. The alliance brings together companies from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America in what members describe as a coordinated effort to reinforce the foundations of global digital infrastructure.
Masiyiwa said Cassava Technologies is proud to be a founding member of the initiative, stressing that responsible leadership and collaboration at the international level are essential as emerging technologies reshape economies and societies.
He said global cooperation among technology companies will help ensure that innovation continues to drive inclusive economic development while maintaining strong safeguards around security and reliability.
Ericsson President and Chief Executive Officer Börje Ekholm, whose company is part of the alliance, said no single country or corporation can independently build a secure and trusted digital stack.
“Trust and security can only be achieved together,” Ekholm said in a statement following the launch.
According to the companies involved, the Trusted Tech Alliance aims to build a dependable technology stack spanning connectivity, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, software and artificial intelligence. Members say aligning standards and best practices across these layers is critical at a time of heightened geopolitical tension and rising cyber threats.
Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith said like-minded companies must work together to protect security and uphold high global standards in the current geopolitical climate. He noted that the alliance is grounded not in nationality but in shared commitments to customers and responsible operations.
David Zapolsky, Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer at Amazon Web Services, said collaboration among industry peers is necessary to promote customer trust and unlock the full economic and social benefits of technology. He said Amazon joined the alliance to reinforce its commitment to providing secure and resilient services worldwide.
Masiyiwa highlighted the broader implications of the initiative, particularly for younger generations who will inherit an increasingly digital economy. He said as artificial intelligence and advanced connectivity transform industries, cooperation at the highest levels of leadership will be key to ensuring those tools are deployed responsibly.
The alliance, according to its founding statement, will continue expanding its membership in the months ahead as it seeks to advance sovereignty, competitiveness and resilience within the global digital economy.
Other founding members include Anthropic, Cohere, Google Cloud, Hanwha Group, Jio Platforms, Nokia, Nscale, NTT, Rapidus, Saab and SAP.
