Nawiri Group is a B-Corp certified, purpose-led travel group based in Africa, bringing together some of the continent’s leading safari brands. We are more than a travel company. Through every journey we design, travel becomes a source of long-term support for the landscapes and communities that make it possible.
“Nawiri” is a Kiswahili verb meaning to flourish or thrive. It reflects our vision of a future where sustainable travel becomes a force for good, enabling vital ecosystems and local communities to thrive together.
Today, we employ more than 1,300 people across East and Southern Africa and operate in some of the continent’s most iconic wilderness regions. Through our safari journeys, travel generates more than US$10 million annually for national parks, community conservancies, and locally led initiatives. Every safari taken with us directly supports this work.
Nature-Based Travel, Designed with Purpose
Each year, over 20,000 travellers explore Africa’s wild places through our brands.
Asilia Africa, a leading East African safari operator, delivers immersive, nature-based experiences across 18 bespoke camps and lodges, combining operational excellence with a deeply embedded commitment to conservation and community partnership.
Go2Africa, an award-winning African safari specialist, curates personalised journeys across the continent, pairing deep expertise with a highly tailored approach to trip design that sees travel as a force for good.
Together, our brands offer immersive journeys rooted in care, connection and conservation. Whether tracking gorillas in the Greater Virunga Landscape, traversing the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, or witnessing desert-adapted wildlife in Namibia, our guests experience the wild in ways that are both personal and purposeful. These are journeys that matter not only to the traveller, but to the landscapes and communities that host them.
A Model Built on Long-Term Impact
Nawiri Group’s impact model is built on long-term partnerships, local leadership, and measurable outcomes.
We have helped pioneer a strong conservancy model in Kenya and supported the development of Wildlife Management Areas in Tanzania. Across key ecosystems including Greater Ruaha, Serengeti-Mara, Greater Selous, Virunga, Kavango-Zambezi, Greater Limpopo and the Greater Cape Floristic Region, we support initiatives that restore habitats, protect biodiversity and strengthen local livelihoods.
Backed by long-term impact investors, and with guest donations matched by group profit, we are scaling a model where travel generates long-term funding for projects that support landscapes and community resilience.
Our commitment to accountability is reflected in our B Corp certification. This journey began in 2012 when Asilia became the first African travel company to qualify. In 2022, we certified the Group itself, reinforcing our commitment to responsible growth. Each year, we publish an Impact and Sustainability Report to measure our progress with transparency.
More Than a Travel Group
While Nawiri Group is known for exceptional safari experiences, our deeper purpose lies in connection.
We connect local communities, conservation partners, private sector operators and travellers around one shared goal: driving positive impact at scale across Africa’s most critical wilderness areas.
Through Nawiri Foundation and Asilia Giving, we sit at the intersection of conservation, community development and commercial sustainability, ensuring that tourism revenue strengthens the ecosystems it depends on.
At its heart, Nawiri is about flourishing.
Flourishing wildlife.
Flourishing landscapes.
Flourishing communities.
And a flourishing model of travel that proves responsible tourism can help build a more equitable future, together.
