Oprah Winfrey is moving her empire deeper into Amazon's orbit. The talk-show veteran's Harpo Entertainment has signed a multi-year agreement that hands Amazon's Wondery exclusive distribution and advertising rights to The Oprah Podcast across audio and video, with the deal also covering her television archive and signature franchises.
Wondery starts pushing the show through Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels and Audible in July. The podcast stays on YouTube and other audio platforms, and the schedule doubles to two new episodes per week from this summer.
The package goes well beyond the audio show. Amazon is picking up rights to the full Oprah Winfrey Show library, plus Oprah's Book Club and Oprah's Favorite Things, both still considered sales engines in publishing and consumer goods. The integration leaves room for retail tie-ins, advertising hooks and cross-promotion across Amazon's media, retail and consumer-facing arms.
Amazon now lands Oprah as the headline name in a creator roster that has been quietly stacking up. New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Baby This Is Keke Palmer, Mind the Game and Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard already sit on the platform. Adding Winfrey both raises the average wattage and signals Amazon's intent to compete head-on for talent that podcast platforms like Spotify and YouTube have been chasing.
The Oprah Podcast has not had to ease into the market. In its first year, it took home a Gracie Award for Video Podcast Host, picked up four Ambie nominations and a Webby nomination, and ranked second on Podscribe's list in January 2026. Guests have spanned Serena Williams, Hugh Jackman, Ina Garten, Kate Hudson, Adam Grant, Maria Shriver and Esther Perel, with episodes circling resilience, caregiving, grief, financial health, relationships and community.
"Hosting this podcast allows me to continue the work I feel called to do, opening the door for conversations that matter," Winfrey said in the announcement. "Expanding our reach globally is an opportunity I embrace, as we continue to connect through stories that invite new ways of seeing and, hopefully, deepen understanding."
Steve Boom, Amazon's vice president of audio, Twitch and games, said the company sees the deal as a way to push Winfrey's audience reach across multiple Amazon channels. CAA and Loeb & Loeb LLP negotiated for Harpo Entertainment.
Whether the deal turns into a true Amazon flagship or simply a marquee distribution win will depend on how aggressively the retailer monetizes the library and franchises.
