Heirs of the late Naivas founder, Peter Mukuha Kago, are at odds once again, questioning the fairness of the judiciary in their ongoing dispute over the multi-billion-shilling estate.
Naivas, a retail giant established in 1990 by the late Kenyan tycoon Peter Mukuha Kago, has long held a dominant presence in Kenya.
The KRA’s demand is linked to a 31.5-percent stake sale in Naivas International in 2020 by members of the Mukuha family.

Once the deal is finalized, it will mark the third time the super-rich Mukuha family has divested part of their stake in Naivas.
Naivas Supermarket is Kenya’s largest supermarket chain.
