Edita Food Industries, led by Egyptian business magnate Hani Berzi, has unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Fawry, the country’s leading e-payment services provider.

This strategic alliance between Edita’s subsidiary, Edita Trade and Distribution, and Fawry aims to streamline cashless collections across Edita’s vast merchant network, marking a significant leap towards enhanced operational efficiency and digital transformation in the sector.

Under the collaboration, Fawry will deploy innovative solutions to facilitate electronic collection systems, thereby digitizing the sales collection cycle of Edita Food Industries. This aligns with Edita’s commitment to advancing digital transformation within its operations, a core tenet of the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

Edita’s chairman and founder, Hani Berzi emphasized the importance of this partnership in improving trade cash management and overall operational efficiency for Edita, expressing anticipation for the strategic objectives to be realized through this collaboration.

The significance of this partnership was underscored by Ashraf Sabry, chairman of Fawry FMCG, who highlighted Fawry’s dedication to supporting the Egyptian market and advancing various industry sectors to bolster the economy and strengthen local markets.

Sabry described the collaboration as a pivotal step forward for Fawry FMCG in Egypt’s market landscape, particularly in the food industry sector. The partnership seeks to leverage the latest innovative and fully secured technology solutions to enhance collection and payment systems within the sector.

Edita Food Industries, a frontrunner in Egypt’s burgeoning packaged snack food market, boasts a diverse portfolio of branded snack items, including cakes, croissants, rusks, and wafers, distributed through its extensive retail network.

Edita Trade and Distribution, the company’s subsidiary, currently operates an expansive sales and distribution network comprising 55,000 points of sale, 26 distribution centers, 1,065 fleets, and 900 sales representatives.

Founded by Berzi in 1996, Edita Food Industries has established itself as a key player in Egypt’s food industry landscape. Berzi, who retains a significant 41.95-percent stake in the conglomerate through Quantum Invest BV, remains a prominent figure among Egypt’s wealthiest individuals, solidifying Edita’s position as a leader in the market.
