Michael Jordan lives at Bear's Club in Jupiter, Florida, plays golf at his private Grove XXIII club near his home and dines at 1000 North, a waterfront private members club along the Intracoastal that he co-founded with a group of sports and media figures. Later this year, that club opens a second location in downtown Sarasota, approximately 70 miles south, and the membership demand driving the expansion was strong enough that the club went under contract to buy an adjacent property before it has served its first meal.

Jordan is a founding partner of 1000 North, confirmed by multiple sources including the Palm Beach Daily News, World Red Eye and Club and Resort Business. The club was co-created by real estate developer Ira Fenton and former New York Giants player Tucker Frederickson, and its founding partner roster reads like a hall of fame shortlist. Golf legends Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley and Justin Thomas are listed as founding partners alongside broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, television personality Bryant Gumbel, wine industry leader Bill Terlato and Marvin Shanken, publisher of Wine Spectator. Serena Williams is also listed among the partners.

The Jupiter original is a waterfront club set along the Intracoastal with sweeping views of the Jupiter Inlet and Jupiter Lighthouse. It offers multiple dining experiences including The Tavern, which serves modern American regional cuisine, and the full 1000 North dining room focusing on steaks and fresh seafood. Boat access is available via a 350-foot dock. Membership requires a $5,000 initiation fee and a $5,000 annual fee.

The Sarasota location, set inside the BLVD Sarasota building at 520 North Tamiami Trail near the corner of Boulevard of the Arts and North Tamiami Trail, will span just over 13,000 square feet across multiple levels when it opens this fall. The club will seat 200 members and feature a 179-seat fine-dining restaurant, private dining spaces, wine lockers with personalized sommelier service, lounges and a wine-tasting area. Members will have access to private limousine service, private jet service and yacht access. The annual membership fee at the Sarasota location is $6,000. The initiation cost has not been disclosed.

The interiors have been designed with considerable attention to detail. JKM Luxury Lighting Design and JKL Kurt Lucas Design Company developed a lighting plan that shifts throughout the day. The build-out uses walnut millwork, brass-accented wine lockers and a quartzite bar top with green veining. More than 2.1 miles of walnut have been used throughout the club, a distance the club's team has noted is equal to the walk from the club's doors to St. Armands Circle.

The Sarasota location is being developed by local developer Kevin Daves, whose past projects include The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and The Concession Golf Club, in partnership with the Jupiter managing partners. First Horizon Bank is providing the project financing. The club expects to create nearly 40 new jobs with a focus on local hiring and regional supplier sourcing.

The expansion decision was triggered by membership demand that exceeded early projections before construction was complete. Chief operating officer Alex Elshimy confirmed in April that the club had gone under contract to acquire an adjacent 10,500-square-foot property near The Sarasota Modern hotel, east of the BLVD building, to accommodate the additional membership interest. Whether that adjacent parcel will be built out as a standalone or connected to the existing club has not been determined.

1000 North is not Jordan's only private club interest in the Jupiter area. Grove XXIII, a golf club he founded nearby, is a separate members-only facility that provides him with a private course near his Bear's Club residence. The three ventures, his residence inside Bear's Club, Grove XXIII and 1000 North, collectively make Jupiter one of the most concentrated expressions of Jordan's lifestyle and commercial interests outside of his sports and brand partnerships.

His broader Florida footprint, detailed in a Robb Report profile published June 12, 2026, includes a second home inside Bear's Club purchased in 2024 for $17 million. Combined with his primary Bear's Club mansion, his Charlotte condominium, his Cornelius Lake Norman estate currently being rebuilt and the 1000 North partnership, Jordan's post-basketball commercial and real estate life in Florida is considerably more active than his public profile might suggest.

The Sarasota location of 1000 North is due to open in fall 2026. The countdown timer on the club's website, as of early April, pointed to late September.
