Nigeria’s entertainment industry is projected to hit $13.6 billion by 2028, led by Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid.
The multi-platinum hitmaker is ready to invest hands-on in Nigeria’s creative economy, starting with film.
Spotify reports that around 250 million user-created playlists now feature at least one Nigerian artist, while 220 million contain a South African.
Away from the bright lights and sold-out arenas, Davido plays a key role in his family’s billion-dollar power company, Pacific Energy Company, a top player in Nigeria’s power sector.
This builds upon previous philanthropic endeavors, including a N250 million ($166 million) donation to 292 orphanages in November 2021 to commemorate his 29th birthday.
While Davido’s philanthropic efforts are commendable, his music career continues to soar to new heights.
Having graced the cover of Forbes Under 30 Africa, Davido headlined the prestigious 30 Under 30 Africa Summit in Gaborone earlier this year.
