Prosus N.V., the global internet group chaired by South African billionaire Koos Bekker, is aiming to double its revenue within the next three years. The company’s CEO, Fabricio Bloisi, announced this ambitious growth plan during Prosus’s Capital Markets Day on Wednesday.
E-commerce growth drives revenue ambitions
Prosus expects to increase its annual revenue from $6.2 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2025 to $12.5 billion by 2028. This growth will be largely driven by expanding its e-commerce platforms, where the company targets revenues of $7.3 billion to $7.5 billion by 2026.
The firm also plans to boost its e-commerce adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) to between $1.1 billion and $1.2 billion, reflecting a sharper focus on profitability alongside growth.
Strong earnings and dividend growth outlook
In its 2025 financial year, Prosus reported a 47.3 percent jump in annual earnings to $7.4 billion, up from $5 billion in 2024. E-commerce revenue contributed $6.2 billion, with adjusted EBITDA hitting $655 million.
Prosus also expects dividend income from its significant 24 percent stake in Tencent Holdings to grow by 24 percent year-on-year, reaching $1.2 billion. Tencent, a Chinese media and technology conglomerate, remains a key pillar in Prosus’s investment portfolio.
Strategic investments and global expansion
Founded in 1997 by Koos Bekker, Prosus N.V. has grown into one of the world’s largest technology investors and a major force in global consumer internet services.
It operates as a division of the South African multinational Naspers, also chaired by Bekker, and manages a broad portfolio that includes fintech, education technology, e-commerce, food delivery, and social platforms. Bekker owns a 0.84 percent stake in Prosus, currently worth more than $890 million, reflecting his deep, ongoing involvement with the company.
The company’s recent $1.7 billion acquisition of Despegar, Latin America’s largest online travel agency, strengthens its digital footprint in the region. Prosus also mirrors Bekker’s successful Tencent strategy by making long-term investments in Indian tech firms such as PayU and Meesho, signaling confidence in emerging markets.
