Reinet Investments, the Luxembourg-based investment firm led by South African billionaire Johann Rupert, has appointed Raymond Hyman as its next chief financial officer, effective January 1, 2027, as the company prepares for the retirement of its current finance chief, Diane Longden.

Hyman, who has served as Reinet’s financial manager since early 2014, will take over the role after more than a decade with the investment group. Longden will remain chief financial officer until December 31 to support the handover.

Following her retirement from the position, Longden will continue as a director of Reinet Fund Manager S.A., the general partner of Reinet Fund S.C.A., F.I.S. Her continued involvement will preserve management continuity as Hyman assumes responsibility for the group’s finance function.

Hyman is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and has previously gained financial experience in Luxembourg and other international markets. Reinet did not disclose additional details about the appointment or indicate that the change would lead to a broader management restructuring.

Reinet Investments S.C.A. is an investment vehicle incorporated in Luxembourg. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Reinet Fund S.C.A., F.I.S., it provides shareholders with indirect exposure to a portfolio of investments. The company’s ordinary shares are listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam, with a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

The group emerged from the restructuring of Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods company associated with Rupert’s business interests. Rupert is one of Africa’s wealthiest businessmen, with a fortune built largely through luxury goods and investments.

Reinet’s investment structure gives shareholders exposure to assets held through its fund, making its financial management function central to the administration and reporting of the portfolio. However, the company’s announcement did not indicate any change to its investment strategy, capital allocation plans or portfolio as a result of Hyman’s appointment.

The transition is an internal promotion rather than an external recruitment. Hyman’s experience within Reinet means he will enter the position with an established understanding of the organisation’s financial operations, while Longden’s planned handover provides a defined period for transferring responsibilities.

The announcement did not specify whether Hyman’s appointment would affect Reinet’s investment decisions or its ongoing capital management activities. The company’s financial announcements and portfolio disclosures remain the primary sources for assessing those developments.
